BTC POWER offers two forms of charging certification. Upon completion of the courses, the technician will be certified to work on all BTC POWER chargers and recognized as BTC POWER ACES!

Meet our Trainers
Matthew Manke
Instructional Designer and Lead Technical Trainer
Matthew Manke is a seasoned Instructional Designer and trainer with a robust background in the automotive industry. Currently, as the Instructional Designer and Lead Instructor at BTC POWER since July 2021, he develops and delivers both instructor-led and distance learning programs for the installation and service of Level 2 and DC charging equipment. Previously, Matthew served as a Contract Station Instruction Supervisor at the Automobile Club of Southern California from 2008 to 2020, where he supervised a team of 16 instructors, managed training performance, facilitated webinars, and converted courses to interactive distance learning modules. He also held roles at Mazda North American Operations as an Instructional Designer and Publications Specialist and at American Isuzu Motors Inc. as a Technical Support Engineer and Technical Training Program Development Specialist. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Arts from California State University-Long Beach, Technical Training Certifications from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Technical Training Institute and is an ASE Master Automobile Technician and Eagle Scout. His expertise in instructional design and extensive automotive experience makes him a valuable asset in technical training and staff development for BTC POWER.

Alec Walter, M.Ed
Technical Trainer
Alec Walter, based in Menifee, California, is an experienced Technical Trainer at BTC POWER since July 2023. His diverse background includes roles as a Social Science Teacher at Lockhart ISD, an Energy Broker at United Energy Services, Inc., and a seven-year tenure with the Air National Guard as an Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems Specialist. Alec holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State University, a bachelor’s degree in foreign policy and security from Ohio State University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. His expertise in teaching, classroom management, and curriculum development is evident throughout his career. Additionally, Alec has served as a lifeguard and receptionist for the City of Hilliard, Ohio, demonstrating his dedication to community service. With his comprehensive background and passion for education, Alec Walter makes significant contributions to technical training and instruction.
