EV Charging Points

BTCPower is developing a line of "Level 2" EV charging points for residential and commercial use. Their relatively low utility requirements allow a fast and economic way of setting up your own EV and plug-in EV charging structure. The charging points provide 200V AV power for onboard EV chargers, and support various communication protocols such as PLC, Zigbee and WiFi, for communication the electric vehicle, chargers, smart batteries and utility companies. They will be equipped with the new SAE standard Yazaki J1772 conductive charging coupler. For commercial applications, the charging point can be equipped with various payment transaction systems.

On-board Level 2 EV Charger

BTCPower has developed and is developing multiple on-board chargers for electric vehicles. These are custom designs for OEM manufacturing of electric vehicles such as delivery vans, urban vehicles and passenger cars. These on-board chargers typically use high frequency switching technologies and offer a power range between 3 and 7 kW with charging algorithms suited for charging 260 to 400V Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium Ion battery packs, which are found in the latest generation electric vehicles. The chargers comply with SAE standards for ruggedness and safety and are typically liquid cooled.

On-board EV DC Bus converters

A range of DC/DC bus converters are under development, that convert the relatively high EV battery voltage (up to 450VDC) into a clean 12VDC bus to power on board equipment. The converters are available as stand-alone units or can be integrated with an on board charging system.
