Manufacturing Engineer - Santa Ana, CA

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineer sought by Broadband Telcom Power, Inc. in Santa Ana, CA to be responsible for complete ownership of assigned processes which includes problem solving and improving floor-based manufacturing initiatives. Interact with shop floor supervisors, quality engineers, hourly employees, and plant management to meet objectives. Perform engineering work varied in nature and complexity encompassing planning, evaluating, designing, developing and adapting tools, machines, mechanical equipment and mechanical industrial processes for the purposes of increasing productivity, enhancing quality and reducing manufacturing costs. Oversee product launch projects taking engineered products into production utilizing established methods/tools such as process control plans and layouts, manufacturing assessments, manufacturing plans, and conduct/direct pilot builds. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. Recommend product changes and/or improvements to Product Engineers. Determine root cause of failures. Design and prepare concept drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment. Develop tooling and fixtures for new products and processes and work with tooling suppliers as required.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent and 1 year of experience in job offered or closely related occupation.

Special Requirements:

Must possess knowledge/expertise, sufficient to adequately perform the required job duties, with the following:

  1. Designing and developing tools and equipment on mechanical industrial processes
  2. Understanding of the product cycle times and experience with measuring metrics to establish quality and processes goals
  3. Knowledge of electrical components characteristics, and understanding of electrical diagrams
  4. Understanding of materials properties and their interaction in electronics to propose changes and improvements
  5. Experience with the use of 3D computer assisted modeling software
