Procurement Specialist - Santa Ana, CA
Procurement Specialist sought by Broadband Telcom Power, Inc. in Santa Ana, CA: Responsible for Long Term Agreement Execution and Lean Conversion Initiatives to improve supplier cost, delivery and site’s inventory objectives. Reduce the overall supply risk through contingency planning and understanding of supplier capacities, disaster preparedness, and financial health. Provide Long Term Agreement execution, including solicitation of proposals, proposal evaluation, price/cost analysis, and documentation of procurement transactions consistent with regulatory requirements. Analyze Long Term Agreement plans, reports status and escalates issues to senior management as appropriate. Understand and interpret market drivers to identify opportunities and potential for actual sourcing risks and document and track the risk mitigation actions and owners with the appropriate teams. Evaluate MRP action reports to define the need for the purchased product, prepare RFQs, evaluate quotes, select suppliers, create and approve purchase orders (POs), as well as the delivery of approved POs to suppliers. Assist with Lean Conversion Initiatives to reduce cost and replenishment time for quality material goods to support production needs through Kanban/VMI/VOI programs. Engage with Site Business Unit (SBU) and Corporate Commodity Teams to provide proactive strategic thinking, planning and execution in support of cost reduction initiatives and short and long term corporate goals and objectives. Support procurement team to ensure that site and corporate goals will be met. Represent the Site as the SAP Procurement Business Process Owner (BPO).
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering (or foreign equivalent) or a related field and 5 years of experience in job offered or a related field.
Experience working with procurement in a manufacturing environment, including procurement best practices and general business principles; preparing RFQs, evaluating quotes, selecting suppliers, creating and approving purchasing orders (POs), as well as the delivery of approved POs to suppliers; strong understanding of the machining commodity to correlate with high variability to balance demand; and experience in developing and executing action plans and communicating cross functionally with Engineering Team.
